Massive Movement Project - Times Zones
SUMMARY
When I was younger, I didn't understand why my stepfather who lived in Wisconsin had always one hour behind , I didn't understand why my friend's dad who lived in France had always 6 hours ahead of me. But recently everything became clear, i understand everything now thanks to Ms Kara who came with this project : the massive movement project. I chose to talk about time zones and I discovered a lot of things. The earth is a sphere, a big sphere. The earth got a perimeter of 40000Km, the earth has an axis, an earth on the middle that goes from north to south, the earth's axis is tilted 23.5° and the earth turn around that axis, that movement is called rotation. Hemisphere is half of a sphere, northern and southern hemisphere are divided by the equator which is the main latitude, latitudes are parallel line that run the earth from east to west. Eastern and western hemisphere are divided by the prime meridian or meridian of greenwich which is the main line of longitude, longitudes are parallel line that cross the earth from north to south. When I was come here in 9th grade, Ms Rena said that she left Philippines in a friday and when she come here it was still thursday, I was like how did that happen but now I know why, it's caused she crossed the international date line because when you cross that line date change. Those are all the things that inspired me to choose time zone for this project. Time zone is a place on the earth that has a standard time, Gmt or greenwich mean time is where time starts, this is the time we use to find the time of other places. we use time zone because the earth is too big and it only rotate around its axis 15° each hour
Questions
How do the earth's motions affect us each day?
Because of the earth's rotation, we need to have multiple times zone because we can't have the same time everywhere. The earth's rotation also cause day and night.
How do the sun, moon and earth interact?
The earth moves around the sun, that's the earth's revolution. The moon moves around the earth, it's called the moon revolution.
What did you enjoy most of the project and why?
I enjoyed being the narrator because I love talking, it's helping me improve my English.
What was most challenging for you during this project and why?
It was to contribute to the art, design of the video because I'm not very artistic but thanks God we had Shaima.
What new skills did you learn from doing this project?
Team working, we all worked together so we were able to finish on time.
Is there anything that you would like to change about this project? Explain
Everything was perfect, everything happened the way we planned it.
